Backtracking--Memorial Weekend

Okay, so I'm a little behind, but I did want to share that my parents came up on Memorial weekend to see us...really to see Ethan! I think Ethan started crawling and pulling up so quickly after they left because Nana kept working with him the entire weekend...boy did he sleep good...she wore him out!! :) Papa just kept trying to get Ethan's kisses...which he was successful. There's one picture where it looks like Ethan is rolling his eyes at Papa...too funny! It was a very relaxing weekend and we really enjoyed seeing the fam! Next big family weekend will probably be Ethan's birthday in September...we'll have a house full! Ganny will be here that weekend!! We can't wait!!

Milestone Day!

Today was a milestone day!! Ethan crawled for the first time! He has been up on all fours and rocking back and forth all week, but could just never seem to get it going...until TODAY!! I laid out all his toys on the living room floor to see which one he would go for...and wouldn't you know it...he went for the dog's chew toy!! I didn't care...I was clapping and yelling, "yea!!!"...and then realized...I didn't get this on film...of course! But no worries, he did it again, and again, and again, and again...needless to say, I'm pretty pooped right now from chasing him around the living room, keeping him from bumping his head on the fireplace, coffee table, and getting him out from under the sofa and outaman...yes, while he is crawling, he is still a little rolly polly! Oh, how life is going to change! :)

1st Mother's Day

It was a great day! Started off with going to church; however, I had to sit by myself because Ethan was getting cranky (that's how it goes with having a baby), so Elliot had to take him outside...oh, well, church was still good! Then my boys took me out to the zoo! We got some great pictures! That night we asked Kelly and Banks to come over (her 1st mother's day too) and eat dinner with us...Chuck was out of town and we couldn't let her be alone on this day!! All in all, it was a great day!

Thunder Beach 2009

Thunder Beach 2009 was a blast! Elliot got to ride his harley with all the guys while us girls soaked up the sun! Dinner at night...great seafood! And much needed adult drinks! :) This was our first trip where Ethan was not with us the whole time...once we got to Panama City Beach, my brother and his family came to pick him up. He stayed with them for a couple of days while Elliot and I had some time by ourselves. I bald my eyes out as I put him in their truck...and for about an hour after! I didn't realize how hard it would be to leave him, but I know he had a GREAT time with his cousins Emma and Grace! They didn't want to bring him back! But I made them!! :) That Saturday, we spent some great family time out on the beach...but Elliot didn't want little E to play in the sand...he was afraid he'd eat it! All in all, we had a wonderful vacation...Elliot and I got to spend some time just the two of us and then later we were enjoying our little boy! Next year, maybe he'll stay the week with Nana and Papa!

Bath Time is Getting Fun!

Now that Ethan can sit up, we decided to let him start taking baths in his Duck Tub! He didn't know what to think at first...he wouldn't put his hands in the water, but after a couple of minutes, he started splashing around. Some friends of ours, Dave and Sherry, gave him a couple of rubber duckies to play with in the bath tub, so we names one Dave and one Sherry...original, I know! :) But just like we thought, he's a big flirt and loves the ladies...he went straight for the "Sherry" duck and wouldn't put it down. He loves the tub! He played and when he got tired, he just kicked back like he owned the place...which these days, he pretty much does! He was a little shrivled up raisin when we got him out! How awesome are these days!

Firsts for Ethan

Today was such a day! Ethan woke up this morning with his mind set that he was going to be more independent...which about makes me cry! As he was eating his oatmeal, he reached for his spoon and took it in his left hand by the handle and put the spoon straight in his mouth...my mouth dropped! I put a little oatmeal on the spoon and again, he put it in his mouth and ate his breakfast! He thought it was so funny and just kept giggling! What a morning...but that wasn't all! Later this afternoon, I decided to try sitting him on the floor without the boppy pillow...thought we'd just go for it! And sure enough, he sat up all on his own...his balance is awesome...he fell backwards once...but never cried! I just sat him back up and he continued to play with his toys. Then Patch (one of our dogs) came over with a toy in his mouth...placed the toy infront of Ethan and then laid down (that's what he does when he wants to play). Ethan just looked at him and then Patch nudged the toy even closer to Ethan. Ethan reached out and grabbed the toy. It was so cute!

First Timer

Not sure what to say...I'm a first time blogger! :) I wanted to set up a blog so that all our family and friends could share in our lives and see little E growing up! So, keep reading...I'll try to update everyone daily!

These pictures are from Ethan's first trip to the beach! We went to Pawley's Island a couple of weekends ago and he did GREAT! It was too cold to get in the water, but he loved the warm breeze on the porch and rocking with mommy in the rocking chair...put him right to sleep!
